Hermes
This brand was established in 1837 by Thierry Hermes. The firm, which eventually came to be a legend, began as a horse riding gear manufacturer - for instance saddles, horse riding boots and bridles. There is no doubt that Hermes has had influence on almost all branches of the fashion and luxury industry. It is a synonym of quality for both the scarves and high-quality purses; quality that could be also judged by Grace Kelly who took from it inspiration and wore the by-Hermes-designed purse made of crocodile leather.

To combine steel, silver, gold and leather on their wristwatches is adopted to be almost a mission for the watch making experts that work for Hermes. Since the twenties the company has rightly been connected with the "big names" of the Swiss watchmaker industry (Vacheron & Constantin, JLC, Rolex, Piaget, or Movado).
La Montre Hermes
In these years, Hermes brought to the watch making business all of their expertise and qualifications - the use of leather components in both the sporty and the elegant models: a watch with leather trimmed clasp (1927); a watch with straps dedicated to golf players (1928); a travel pocket watch (1930). Hermes had almost immediately expanded its activities in the field of watch making. Since 1978, via its only subsidiary company "La Montre Hermes", it has been distributing its timepieces all over the world, for as they say, "the Hermes model is capable of capturing the mystery and the bizarreness of time and space".
French design, Swiss quality
Hermes watches are designed by Parisian artists but constructed in Switzerland. All watches have Hermes' easily recognizable distinctive features: a plastic letter H placed on the crown, "Hermes Paris" lettering on the dial and a symbol of a carriage on the case back.

Each model range differs from the others not only by its spirit but also by its design. Some ranges have become almost notorious: Clipper (1981), Kelly (1975) with its small padlock, Harnais (1996) with a removable case, H-Our (1996) with the eternal motif of the letter H; and recently the collections Belt (1999), Espace (1999), and Tandem (2000) with a timeless design. The design of Hermes watches successfully unites tradition with innovation. Dials - always easily readable - are very often accompanied by some smart element. But one thing is common to all the Hermes watches: precision and constancy in the world of luxury and elegance.
