Franck Muller

This favorite and renowned brand surprisingly does not have a long history. Its founder Franck Muller was born on July Eleven, 1958 in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. Very early, he discovered in himself a desire to research and invent, and enrolled at a watchmaker's school. During the course of these studies, his talent fully developed and his teachers became astonished by his diligence and curiosity. His brilliant essay "Ecole d´Horlogerie de Geneve" (School of Watchmakers of Geneva) won several awards and first prizes.

History of Franck Muller

Shortly after he completed his studies, prominent collectors, private museums, and auction houses began to address him with requests to renovate precious watches. The star of Franck Muller began rapidly to rise. In 1983 he noticed that watchmaking complications were for the most part present only in pocket watches, and started production of complicated wrist watches under his own name. Since 1986 his watches have regularly appeared at prestigious exhibitions.

In 1992 Franck Muller finally established his own watchmaking company and in the same year introduced new complicated watches. In 1995 he moved the production to Genthod, a place known for its wonderful view of Lake Geneva and of the Mont Blanc mountain range. There he introduced the "Franck Muller Watchland" concept in March 2001. The Franck Muller brand does not allow itself to be hampered by prejudices and watchmaking taboos.

Franck Muller "toys" with watchmaking complications as in, for example, his newest model - the Crazy Hours. It is a watch with an automatic movement and a patented function of hour "jumping". Literally. The watch shows time in an unconventional way: the hands move on the dial from one hour marker to the next by leaps. Also within other watch ranges by Franck Muller you can find models that surpass common criteria. Behind his success are the unseen teams of young designers with extraordinary ideas and great adaptability to customers' wishes - when it comes to the size, the shape, and the color of each model. For instance, each model can be manufactured in eight sizes.

Franck Muller does not keep anyone in the dark about the fact that it has gained its position on the watchmaking market deservedly, and can retain it despite the enormous competition.
