This company was founded in 1881 in the village of Le Brassus in the Jura in Vallé de Joux of the Swiss mountains by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet.

classic But the history of this firm dates back to 1875 when Jules Audemars began to develop and construct his own movements. With increasing demand for his products, additional skilled help was needed.

This is the time when Edward Piguet, his friend and schoolmate, who shared Jules's interest in and admiration for the watchmaker's craft, entered the scene. The keys to their worldwide success and prestige were principally their tremendous enthusiasm and patience, and their perfectionism. Without these two gentlemen, their descendants, and the watchmakers working at this prestigious manufactory since 1875, the chronicle of the watchmaker's industry would doubtlessly have looked different.

Royal Oak

royal oakThe Royal Oak watches, the company's most famous range, was launched in 1972. This model, revolutionary within the sphere of sporty luxury watches, which used steel as though it were precious metal, adopted an octagonal shape for the bezel with eight hexagonal screws (an interesting fact is that the watch took its name from the octagonal shape of cannons used in the Royal Naval Forces' battle ship Royal Oak).

Royal Oak Offshore

Although the Royal Oak range celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2002, it had not lost anything of its founders' resolutions and celebrated its anniversary by winning a prestigious prize - the "Grand Prix of Geneva 2002" - for technical innovation. The Ultra-sport version of this range is called Royal Oak Offshore; it is bulkier and the dial is covered with a "wallpaper pattern. Beside classic Royal Oak models, we would like to introduce to you one limited edition model that is available on the Czech market.

Royal Oak - City of Sails

The Model Royal Oak - City of Sails was produced on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the origin of the legendary Royal Oak range and in honor of the Swiss yacht team that took part in the America's Cup yacht race. In this limited edition chronographs' range, there were 1250 models manufactured in steel, 200 in rose gold and 50 pieces in platinum. The classic octagonal-shaped case and bezel with eight screws are accompanied - unconventionally - by a caoutchouc strap. The case back is decorated with an engraving showing two racing ships and there's the clearly noticeable red logo of the "Alinghi" ship on the wallpaper pattern dial.
